Why Do We Believe In The Paranormal Activity In The Bible But Not The Activity Of Today?
The Bible is full of paranormal stories about floods, people being eaten by whales and surviving, giants, walking on water, and turning water into wine are just a few of these stories. Why is it so easy to believe these stories and not so easy to believe in ghosts, aliens, and bigfoots?

It all comes down to faith. Most people that read the bible and believe what it says are acting on faith, something that does not always require logic, just belief. Faith is blind trust, not many people possess this quality but when they do, their devotion is unshakable. Ghosts, aliens, and bigfoot aren’t exactly religious icons, although some that follow these beings do so with religious devotion. So what is left if religion cannot explain these abnormalities? Science. Science requires logic and proof, and follows the basic principle of: If I can see it and touch it, then it’s real. Seeing as how big foot and aliens usually choose to reveal themselves to inbred hillbillies or mental patients their scientific credibility is difficult to prove.

Too many people discredit the Bible by many venues. One group thinks the Bible is nothing more than a book of fables. Another assumes its stories are nothing more than stories in example. Yet another gathers that its stories are genuine, but has no application to modern times; but it indeed does? Ufos are mentioned in the book of Haggai. God spoke to him and gave warning to him in regard of them. Haggai told God that he wanted to climb a high tower to see what they would say to him. But God told him to write what he was told upon tables, so that people would read it and run from them (Ufos). This and Ezekiel’s personal account is not the only record of Ufos in the Bible. If Ufos are found in a 2000 year parallel of record, then other things are bound to be realized as well.

That’s a very good question. Why, indeed?
The Bible is a mixture of poetry, history, and myths, all in one bound volume, written in a time when natural phenomena was considered the work of God(s).
I wonder, if people couldn’t explain why bolts of fire streaked from the sky (lightning), why not also accept that somebody can walk on water?
The stories of the Bible are now thousands of years old. Does their age mean they are true, or instead that they’re myths and stories, used by an earlier age to explain a confusing world, that continue to be repeated today?

Even more perplexing is why people believe word for word the “prophets of old” from the Bible, their predictions, their powers to heal, but generally the population discounts any modern day psychics and healers. I believe that the Source is in all, and that energy work is very real and valid today, and in any time.

People believe the Bible out of faith. Since ghosts, aliens, and bigfoots are not generally mentioned in the Bible, does not have proof that those things are not true. By the way, there are pictures of saints and angels with u.f.o.’s in the sky,The u.f.o.’s are really noticeable.Check it out.

good question! i think some of the accounts in the Bible are scareier than alot of things i have seen and heard. Many christians do not believe in the paranormal because the Bible tells them not too, atleast thats how its inerpreted. But the bible is full of ghosts and spirits and demons, sooooooooo, I think ppl are just plain hypocritical

I don’t believe in either one. Although I don’t lump aliens and bigfoot in with ghost.
Basically if it is anything with ghost, spirits, or what not don’t believe it. Sorry no proof.
That isn’t to say I believe in bigfoot, but the idea of a creature being discovered that wasn’t known to exist is more believable than a ghost.
New species and ancient ones like Megamouth Shark are being found all the time.

goo-head this is a question I have been asking for years and I still have not gotten a straight answer from any one. Most of the time they are too busy criticizing and getting completely side tracked from the question.I was raised a Christian, but when we were older we were not criticized in my home for thinking there has to be more to all this we call life/existence/creation/superior being, ect. My mother grew up in war torn Nazi occupied Germany and raised us to not feel prejudice…to not become as the Natzi’s had been. She taught me love, and to have an open mind. I wish she had written a book….There is an existence before life and one after that is unlike what we have right now….As for Big Foot….I have seen too much documented evidence of people with full bod hair. Children born with flippers and multiple extra limbs….an thing is possible because of evolutions mishaps….Even a higher being we might call God. I won’t condemn those around me for their religious beliefs or lack of….as long as the teachings do not hurt others….Thank you for sharing this interesting thought…..

Most people don’t think the things in the Bible actually happened. Yep, it’s all paranormal / supernatural / magic. And no, it didn’t happen.

I think all those stories in the bible are impossible to believe, most of them even more so than the modern myths you mention.
