But I do think that you should add Trainspotting and The Color Purple to your list!

I was reading something else about this on another blog. Interesting. Your linear perspective on it is diametrically contradicted to what I read earlier. I am still mulling over the diverse points of view, but I’m leaning heavily toward yours. And no matter, that’s what is so great about modern-day democracy and the marketplace of thoughts on-line.

Contemporary filmmakers tell their stories using the latest tools, including everything from digital cameras to computer animation. The way they tell their stories has been shaped by the rise of short-form and user-generated content, video games, and virtual worlds that invite audience participation. At the same time, audiences are expanding their role by making films that are just one piece of a larger project.

lol I don’t remember what the commercial was for, but I remember a commercial that always cracks me up. It was a dudeplaying with a toy robot and his wife comes in, gives him a nastylook and leaves. And the guy says (this is the funny part) “But it shoots gamma rays!”

To tell the truth, I am voiceless. The Shawshank Redemption is great. I am not too old film fanatic, in point of fact, this film came out whenI was born, and thence I am more used to films with unbelievable special effects, edge-of-your-seat action, et cetera. This film has zero of that, and yet, it appeals so closely to me . Way Frank Darabont uses the narration of Red to drive on the tale, the excellent the film music applied (note the harmonica used merely before Red getting the letter at the end). The whole film, from beginning to end, from actions to sound, is a lighthouse of desire, judgement, and redemption. The cast is pure, Morgan Freeman(Red) actually brings about a fresh feel to the film, and that’s precisely what the movie is, what a film should be. Really recommended for every movie fan.
