In addtion to these other answers, which are very good, there is evidence if you believe it is evidence. One of the fundemental laws of reality is that believing is seeing. If you believe these things then you might find many books out there to be credible in these areas.
I read a book called Arons Crossing, not sure about spelling. The claim is that the author was walking through a graveyard and she just felt she had to say something at some time. She says it, and feels a little silly since her friends heard her, but this ghost in limbo happens to hear her. He follows her to the house and eventually she figures out the ghost wants to give its story. The ghost, not sure how, is able to tell her the whole story as she types it up. It is suposed to be from the ghosts point of view. Covers the peiod between his birth and 70 years after his birth. Except he skips most those 70 years.
What I thought was cool about the book. In the book he makes alot of remarks. How he saw a ghost animal, it was a chicken just sitting by the road. He didn't feel anything when he died, he actually didn't know he died. Snapped his neck when a bail of hay fell on his head. Tells everyone he is okay, dusts himself off, but everyone seems to be ignoring him. Then he sees what has everyones attention. Talked about these layers. He could not stay in our "layer" very long. It made him tired. When he would sleep he would sleep for long periods of time. Like over the entire winter season. Like months. A few times he when for a car ride, except the car was full of people. Even as a ghost it was a tight fit for him. He couldn't understand how our soil was able to maintain certain crops, they didn't have the chemicals we have now days. There were far less trees than there were in his time, 1910 maybe. He was surprised to think the "loggers" came this far south. He uses some words we don't use today. When he was a ghost he met other ghosts. One was an old woman who layed by her grave for like 300 years. Another was a hooker I think. He saw people die from a ghost perspective. A hand of light sort of reached down and grabbed them before they had a chance to be a ghost. He was actually able to move physical objects. He through a pencil at a mortician who was disrespecting his corpse, and kicked a womans bet twice, the one who writes the book. It was never sure how he was able to do those things but it was always when he was angry or upset. When he was a ghost he had to image a bubble around himself, or other ghosts could know what he was thinking. He could also fly, which made him tired and it took him alot of practice. The hooker he talks to tells him that we can communicate with thoughts too but it is alot harder. He also didn't understand how he could walk through walls, yet he cold lay on top of a table and go to sleep, not falling though.
Well maybe this will help. You aren't going to find any evidence out there if you don't want to believe. But if what I said interests you, you might want to get the book. I mean not be true, the author wont exactly say it is, but she implies it many times. I don't feel she is trying to mislead anyone. It is only though books like these than anyone can even hope to understand ghosts.

No proof whatsoever.
@starbaby: Cmon, you really think ghost hunters is real? Read the disclaimer!
The only evidence is:
"I think ghosts are real because I saw one when I was drunk or dizzy"

Orbs don't need to be photoshopped, they are a common photgraphic error caused by a particle of dust reflecting the light of the flash.http://www.theorbzone.com/
Those tv shows are really for entertainment only, there's no actual evidence that ghosts exist.

Something to keep in mind when it come to science. The paranormal is also referred as the supernatural. Science is a neutral method that can be applied to what is NATURAL. If the evidence can't be detected, measured, and be tested, there is no science.
Further more, how much credibility is gained for a claim that needs belief? Rather than standing on it's own merits for truth? Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.

Well, critics say that there are scientific explanations for all paranormal events. But I've seen some of those ghost-hunting shows, and they have evidence like: the room temperature drops in certain rooms, the electrical field is different in some areas, and they measure these things with scientific instruments. There's also TONS of anecdotal evidence from people who've been haunted. A lot of it can be explained by science, but some of the occurrences are beyond reason. These stories are usually dismissed by skeptics as "unscientific" because they weren't measured and recorded. So maybe ghosts do exist, but I don't think we'll know for sure until we die.

The paranormal world may be very real, but the truth is that not one single shred of solid evidence has been found to prove it. There are many things that we cannot explain, and many unusual pictures circulate the globe. Most of them are probably legitimate pictures, but there are too many factors that have to be considered when deciding if the picture is Truly paranormal.
While "orbs" make pretty cool pictures, they are usually nothing more then dust, bugs, or moisture. I have yet to see an "orb" that isn't completely explainable.
Mist pictures are usually just pixilation or camera movement. Digital cameras are notorious for having a slow shutter speed. Even the slightest movement will create a mist-like effect. Breath and smoke will also create a mist effect.
I have seen many things in my time as a paranormal investigator. If I didn't believe that there is some truth to the possibility of hauntings, I would not be wasting my time in this field. However, true evidence still does not exist. My personal rule is to keep an open mind, but do so with an honest dose of skepticism.
