Is The Ghost Light Of Buck Hill A Real Ghost Or A Natural Phenomenon?
I heard about a ghost that carries a lantern searching for his lost daughter at BUCK HILL ( 6 km down a dirt road into a tall forrest) just outside Round lake Ontario.
It is supposedly seen quite regularly.
Does anyone know if this is true and is it for real? Has anyone seen it?

All I can say is that phenomena such as the Buck Hill light are found in a number of places–at least 3 in North Carolina (the Maco, Vander, and Brown Mountain lights) and in Marfa, Texas.
The Maco and Vander lights (and I suspect that the two legends have been merged over the years) are attributed to railroaders who lost their heads in accidents and are still looking for their missing craniums. The Brown Mountain Lights are said to be the ghosts of Cherokee women looking for the bodies of their dead following a prehistoric battle.
I think the Marfa lights are put down to UFO’s.
So, I said all that to say this: it’s likely to be a naturally occurring phenomenon (as yet not understood by science) that, like many other, similar lights, has been given a ghost story to explain it.

I actually dress up in all white and walk around with a lantern around Buck Hill from time to time to meditate. Its a shame I’ve never seen this ghost, though.

Huh that was odd, my comment didn’t show up. Anyway I had to say that it’s good to see that somebody else also touched on this as it was difficult finding the same information elsewhere. This was the first place that told me the answer. Much obliged.

I’ve been there 7 or 8 times and 3 times I absolutely saw some sort of activity. The most impressive experience occured with my mini-van full of friends, and a second car. At one point during the night an orb, the size of your fist appeared over top the second car. Everyone in the van saw the exact same thing. I assure you that absolutely none of the observers were under any influence.
Take the drive, do it quietly and respectfully of the people living around there. You will be impressed.

alright.. you want to know about buck hill well i just got back from there tonight and im soo eager to tell this story.. My name is Jesse Hawkes i live in Petawawa ontario just about 46 minutes away from buck hill. My friend and i have been eager to go out to buck hill for years… but never did until tonight in is march 8 2010 we went out there we left about 8 00 stoped by a friends house and got to the top of buck hill like seen in the picture online except only night..around 10 30.. we sat up there and waited for the lights we did not doo anything like calling daddy or lights turning on and off.. but yet what we seen was remark able.. in fact what looked like a glowing lanturn except it was moving soo oddly it struck me and my friend with confusion.. it is said here at buck hill a logger lived deep in the bush with his family. the three were a quite to them selves family and had a nice little shack out deep in buck hill road woods.. well one stormy blizard winter night apon arival home from some work the logger adivsed the two mother and daughter not to go nywhere that night due to the storm…. how ever they had a dog.. it got out the door and ran away.. the daughter went after it.. the father of the daughter went after the girl but apparently she was no were to be found.. she just simply vanished and the dog aswell… The logger man went insane due to his non stop search in the winter cold for his lost daughter.apparently my side hearing he carried only three lanturns to attempt to find her.. a red one a white one and a green one…
he never found her and thus parished him self due to the lac of food and water and hypothermia . to this day there boddies are not found thus the souls never finding each other and explaining why he searches for her……
nooww back to tonight,, we did see both red and green and white… take alook at the online picture.. of buck hill ontario.. me and my friend tonight parked on the left side.. little further over. imaging our few and keep that few still in focous.. now we seen the red light.. on our very right side of that picture that top of that hill .. but it was moving jsut like the others and about 5 or 6 meters back into the woods…. now the white and green one were both down in the valleythe white glows liek a candle light and moves fast toward the right side.. remember these lighta are about 1 kilometer awaywhen we saw them tonight..the green one on the left side near were the path to come to the hill is… but still deep in the woods.. noow keep in mind that path.. has a thousand twists and turns to it.. at on point it turns left or right depending on coming or going and goes that way for a while taking you jsut only about 150 meters to the left in the forest.. the white lights were about 300 meters into the bush going to the right from that then they would fade…… i dont know but i get feelings now ive awlays believed i could feel spirits and i felt somthing there.. i felt a separation… a horrible anger of failure… and those lights… that candle light look .. that move sooo fastt but yet look controld by human.. my mission is to find and help them… i feel i need to help those souls find peace.. iwill find that cabin… i will find there bodies me and my friend will do it we believe as somewhat 46 minute drive locals… that have seen it… we believe it
