you really shouldn’t worry so much about “offending” people, its your story, if they can’t handle it they shouldn’t read it.
I also like the plot, but its a little boring. I think you shouldn’t be afraid to make the relationship between this girl and this boy somewhat perverse (at least to him) and don’t shy away from the dark side of writing. I think this could be a great story if you added a little something extra.

1. You can say to your readers that Heather was one of the inspirations for the character in your story , but any fact of life that is similar to the late actress’s is coincidental .

my husband was a fan of her work too i dont think its offensive. and if people do, o well its your story. i like the concept and would be interested in reading it. also i for her to play the role of a messiah is different and refreshing. i like the conflict. i think this story has massive potential. and i think that she would almost have to be “in love with him”from a child’s prospective anyway, it would further connect them together and progress the story along smoother. id love to here more
