I Am Looking For Really Scary Ghost Stories To Scare My Children With.?

I am taking my 11 and 13 year old on a canoe and camping trip. My husband and I decided that we want to scare them a little bit. We are looking for a good ghost story. They are wise beyond there years, so the story I tell needs to be believable and really scare. I want them to buy into. Maybe one day they can scare there children with it. So does anybody have a real good story I can tell? Please help.!

  • Red Eyes
Once there was a man and he went to a hotel. He checked in and asked the receptionist for his key. She gives it to him but before he leaves she suddenly blurts out ; “You cannot go into the room with no number- UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES!’
He is shocked but proceeds up to his room. On the way up he spots the room with no number. It is a very old fashioned door and the keyhole is very wide.
The man goes to sleep but cannot stop thinking about the room. To put his curiosities to an end he gets up and looks through the key hole. In the room he can make out a figure with paper white skin sitting with her back to the door slowly brushing her long black hair.
The man goes back to bed and begins to have strange nightmares about the woman. He wants to look through one more time to put his fears to rest. He goes up to the door again and looks through the keyhole again. This time all he can see is red. Irides ant red. Thinking the woman may have noticed him spying and put a board up he wakes up downhearted. He decides to press the receptionist for furthur information. As he finished telling his story the receptionist looks at him odly.
“A long time ago”, she says “A man and a woman rented out that room. he murdered her, brutally, and left. He was never caught!” She sniffed. “They were very odd people though. White skin and red eyes….”
    Scary
Mary was driving around in her car,it was about 3am.She was getting home from her friends house. It was calm, nothing really happening.Mary was listening to the radio, and “drumming” on her steering wheel. Suddenly the car jolted and stopped. Mary shrieks-it feels like it hit somthing! She stops and gets out but she can’t find anything!” She drives homes and stumbles into her house.
She wakes up the next day and gets into her car to drive to school. As she enters the front gates people give her shocked stares. Getting out she stops dead staring at the front of the car. There is an incredible large deep dent….

  • There is a series of scary story books that I used to read to get scared when I was a kid. The first one is called “Scary Stories to tell in the dark” by Alvin Schwartz. There are 4 more books with other stories after that. Some of them are scary, some are the silly sort of scary. You could find one to tell them from there.
And a movie called “Campfire Tales” is about a few teens who are trying to scare each other by telling stories. You could look up that movie and maybe use a story from there.

  • why would you want to scare your kids?
if they believe it they could be scarred and permanently remember it.
childrens imagination run away with them and the things they could imagine would scare you.
to scare them is just cruel.

  • just after sunset by stephen king it is a collection of short stories
Nothing is better then the KING the master of horror

  • Poor children…I would go with The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman (something they could recover from). But if you plan on torturing them then I suggest anything by Edgar Allen Poe.

  • Why would you want to scare your kids? That’s just mean. You could give them nightmares.
