Paranormal: Paranormal World from Monster Legends.

Don’t You Think The Show Ghosthunters Sets The Gold Standard Of Paranormal Investigations?

I have seen other shows and they get ridiculous with screaming and or playing spooky music. I just feel like TAPS has ruined me for watching any shows about the paranormal activity.

  • Yes, I think TAPS set the standard. Paranormal State is also pretty good; they make good use of their equipment and I’ve never seen them freaked out and running away. I saw an interesting show last night on the Travel Channel called Ghost Adventures. They actually get padlocked in a place to do their investigations – kinda cool. The one guy did freak and run around, but the leader kept him in check.

  • Well in the same way that Lead was used in Alchemy in trying to turn Lead into Gold then yes the show sets the same standard.
I agree it is perhaps the best one currently being offered but I don’t think that is saying very much.
The older “In Search Of” and slightly less old “Sightings” were far better shows. UFO Hunters where they involve experts in attempts to replicate conditions and always have the resident skeptic offer analysis (even when his argument has no relevance) is a better balanced and more scientific show that all ghost shows could use as a better model.

  • That’s so funny…I was just thinking that a few hours ago! I totally agree with you. I love how Grant and Jason try to debunk stuff. They seem like pretty logical guys and don’t try to “trick” viewers into thinking things are real when they probably aren’t. For instance, if you hear a noise, they might ask “what was that” and then you hear Tango say “oh, that was my leg” or whatever. Ha-ha. That’s some good stuff right there.

  • I agree ghosthunters sets the standard. They should now attempt to raise it above suspicion. With all the money they’re making,it should be easy for them.

  • No, not at all. It’s TV. The gold standard is more along the lines of Joe Nickell:http://www.joenickell.com/

  • probably
