Does Watching Paranormal Shows On Tv Invite That Stuff Into Your Home?
I love to watch shows such as Ghost Hunters and Paranormal State. My family insists that you are inviting that kinda stuff into your home just from watching. What do you think?

No I do not believe that watching these shows invites anything into your home. However, I do believe that watching these shows creates an atmosphere of “wanting the phenomena to happen to you”. I am a skeptical believer and have seen all sorts of weird stuff happen, and I must say, that 99% of things I have seen and thought, gee that it just like what happened on TV, turn out to be explainable. It’s that 1% of stuff I cant explain that keeps me going.
You read on this forum all the time, “Is this Paranormal”? and I reckon that in 99% of cases, if the person didn’t want to believe that it was paranormal, they would accept the occurrence as normal and not think twice about it. While these shows are entertaining to watch, they do plant the seed into peoples mind to make them think about the paranormal possibilities, whereas, most of the time a very logical explanation does exist.

What about watching vampire movies?
What about watching space invader alien movies?
What about watching a show on dinosaurs?
Paranormal shows on TV are talking about totally non-existent stuff, there is no such thing as paranormal stuff.
You could invite pink unicorns just as much, without effect.
The only thing bad about paranormal shows is that the rating they will get will invite producer to make more, and some feeble minded people may get the impression paranormal is for real after watching so many.
It is not.

No.
Spirits of the dead do not travel, they are bound to
a location or a physical item. There is another class
of entity that can move but has no reason to single
you out when millions of other people are probably
watching the same show.
What these shows can do is set you up for some
bad dreams or a nervous feeling when going up in
the attic, for example. That’s due to the power of
suggestion. If that happens to you, then it would be
best to stop watching shows that cause it. In many
ways we “are what we eat” and I often wonder why
people don’t see the link between TV violence and
the violence our kids commit after watching that
stuff… the power of suggestion is very real.
Best wishes,
Jean

I wouldn’t think so at all. Sometimes, however, if you become obsessed, you can actually make phenomena occur. The mind is a very powerful thing, and if you worry yourself over it, you may just start experiencing weird things. They would, however, be totally a product of your mind.

Well if a spirit world actually exists, who knows what rules it abides by? But since we don’t know, I think it’s a little silly for people to say that watching paranormal shows invites it into your home. How would they know? Have they done tests?
Go ahead and watch and enjoy. My opinion is that the only thing it might invite is some power of suggestion, but little else. I watch these shows all the time and unfortunately I haven’t seen one paranormal happening in my house. I don’t expect that I will, either.

I only glossed over some of the answers you’ve gotten and I’m going to be completely honest with you. Please ignore those who DON’T BELIEVE!
First of all, I’m a Christian, and being a Christian I do believe in spirits. I do believe in ghost, I do believe in demons, I know that satan exist.
Secondly, like you, I watch “Ghost Hunters, Supernatural [2 very cute guys in this one], and any scary movie I can find”. My husband on the other hand, usually leaves the room or gets on the computer. He too, is a Christian.
Many people in the Christian world do believe that you are inviting these things into your home when you watch this type of programming. And they [could] be right.
How is that possible? Because 90% of Hollywood doesn’t believe in God. They believe in what is called, “Scientology”, this has nothing to do with God.
Anyways, since they don’t believe in God but they do believe in being as close to accuracy as possible. They will/can use real spells. Remember “Charmed”? Think about it. Do you really know what they’re saying when they’re speaking Latin?
Even on “Ghost Hunters”, the bald headed guy, admitted that he doesn’t really believe in God. I haven’t really been able to watch the program since then.
So what can you do? You can bless you home. You can even do something that I do when I start to watch one of these programs. Does this work? It must because I haven’t had any problems at all.
When the program is coming on, I simply say aloud, “This is a Christian home. This is only a TV show. Just because I’m watching this doesn’t mean that I’m inviting you into my home. Because I’m NOT! Only God is welcome here”.
I know that may sound a little silly. But like I said. I haven’t had any problems since I’ve been doing it.
By the way, I’m sure a lot of people are going to say that I’m crazy because of this answer. Ignore them like I plan to.
God Bless

First off: Like I have said MANY times before… the people who said that ghosts don’t exists are immature. Apparently they believe in it, they are just in denial. Why would they be viewing this question if they think it is dumb?? ANYWAYS—– No, it does not invite ghosts into your home.

Well, I’ll put it this way. It would be very difficult to invite something that has never even been proven to exist, into your home.
Your family is living in fairy tale land sounds like.
These shows are just for fun. They are not to be taken seriously.

GHosts are deceased humans. You can’t just attract them like flies. However , having an interest, and feeding that interest by any means will make you more alert to possible paranormal activities which might have gone previously unnoticed.

Anybody who says the shows are rigged are WRONG! The shows are not rigged. The shows are 100% real. People are too scared to believe the truth. No, they do not invite stuff into your home. Ouija boards and EVP do though.

no they don’t travel through tv shows and no you just have to believe they can attached to a certain object, property or a traumatic event that happened in the area or be attached to a person

That’s not so. As an investigator, I know some believe that an entity can come home with you from a haunted location, but not from watching a tv show.

no, there are things that you can do to send out that invitation but watching shows dealing with the paranormal is not one of those things.

You are not inviting that kind of stuff into your home because the shows you specifically named are staged.

I’m glued to my plasma screen right now………..they’re here………..
No.
The only thing TV does is inform people versus keeping them superstitious and in the dark.
I’m betting your family is deeply religious……….

Yes. Spirits live off of the energy of evil things, words, symbols, deeds, etc.
They “eat” sin like we do food.
