Did The Movie Paranormal Activity Give You A Headache From The Camera Shaking?
If you’ve seen the movie Paranormal Activity, did it make you sick from too much camera shaking? I need to know if I’m going to spend the whole time rocking myself in nausea-induced delirium.

At first yes…because in the very begining he’s holding the camera a lot and walking. Ugh. There was one older couple who left the theatre because they were getting sick. But if they had waiting another 15 or so minutes then the guys puts the camera on a tripod. I’d say majority of the movie has the camera sitting on a solid surface not moving…but there are parts throughout that someone is holding it but honestly the movie is good and once you’ve gotten really into…the couple minutes at a time that they are acutally holding it won’t even bother you.

I’m not a big fan of the whole shaky-camera thing. This was my first shaky camera film. I can tell you that it DOES shake, but it doesn’t jiggle and bounce up and down very much. It’s in general pretty stable. I’m surprised that people got sick from it, honestly. =/ It wasn’t that bad, and you’ll be distracted soon enough. =] If you don’t like it, I’m sure the theatre can provide you with tickets to another movie.

I just came back from the movie like literally 30 minutes ago. It definitely made me sick & i had to sit there with my eyes closed going half way through because I couldn’t handle the motion, not to mention gagging a couple times here and there. but the movie is definitely a bad *** blow your mind away, i suggest you go see it!

no. but. i am one of the only guys i know who enjoyed cloverfield, and blair witch project is one of my favorites. but i thought that having the camera on the tripod for part of the movie helped out a lot. plus, since the camera was hand held, it gave you a more horrific effect. like when he turns the camera towards to freaky sounds, you dont know what your gonna find. the movie scared the living **** outta me.

YES! I was so nauseated I had to leave the theatre for a few minutes and totally lost everything I’d eaten before. I lasted as long as I could…I tried to watch the “horizon” at the bottom of the screen or only look up at the bedroom scenes which were stationary…but by then it was too late. Shall we say TOASTED! I went back in the theatre after cold water on my face and watched the ending but man…I was wiped out. I had this hot sweat/chills feeling and then this wave overcame me. One of my daughters’ friends had to put her head between her knees to keep from passing out. It’s a good film, definitely get the effect by seeing it at night but know that it’s going to wreck havoc with your equilibrium.

No, it’s not like that horrible Blair Witch Project. Most of the time the camera was sitting on a tripod or set down on a table or something. I didn’t notice much shaking.
That was such an awesome movie.

No it really didnt. The camera stays really still for a lot of it as a lot of time they just set the camera on the table or night stand and film. Its a good movie you’ll be fine

Not really…the camera is held steady most of the time, nothing like the blair witch project. It’s a great movie, scared the heck out of me!

the only t ng that will give you a headache is the black people screaming their heads off at the expected parts.
