For some reason we don't see the white light and remain on this plane. It's very sad because we can stay centuries without realizing we're dead. It's a very lonely existence and we're usually confined to the area where we died. You can tell a ghost because they are quite literally earth-bound (their feet shuffle along the floor) and they sometimes carry injuries and scars from their lifetime on their face and body. What many people think tho, is that they are spirits of the "departed". From my studies I have found that they are NOT. They are from the dark side/ evil side.
